Explain how the Little Mix ‘Black Magic’ Video uses Media Language (15 marks)
In Little Mix's music video 'Black Magic' media language is used in many ways. For example mise-en-scene is used when the girls start off as stereotypical 'geeks' who are dressed in unvibrant and dull coloured clothes like brown and green. However, with the use of magic, they transform into pretty 'popular' girls who look beautiful in their white and red clothing. There clothes could be red and white to connote love and romance as they become pretty.
This is music video and song is a pop genre and therefore includes mutliple shots and quite fast pace editing. The shots and cuts are in pace to the of music and the stort. This is upbeat and allows the audience to enjoy it and feel invloved with the story.
The artists in this music video is contantly in shot and kept in the eyes if the audience. The extreme close ups of the artists allows the arist to know that their the main focus and the most important in this video, It makes the audience feel as if they are face to face this the artists and involved.
